The Edge: A Relais et Châteaux experience for your pets. § These folks have a way with pets. In existence for over 50 years, the place is top-drawer gorgeous. Boarding, training, and grooming services are available. Large private indoor and outdoor runs. Heating and air conditioning make runs comfortable in all weather. Boarding from about $25/dog/day, depending on size. Special-handling options include individual play time with staff. Training is a one-week (plus) formalized program. Fee of $55 for dogs and cats under six months ($30 for older animals) includes medical exam, initial shots, and neutering. Two forms of ID, as well as proof of employment and your current address, are required to adopt. Dog training, offered Thursday evenings 7–8pm, costs $200 for seven sessions. No credit cards. The Edge: Great source for pets. § Wonderful selection of animals needing a home. Adoption of animals is a two-way process. The ASPCA interviews you and all members of your family to ensure that the pet you choose suits your lifestyle, meaning that the pet’s needs are well met. Some people are turned down. Fee includes medical exam, initial shots, and neutering. A Behavior Health Line is available to help you settle the animal into your home. If the animal has health needs, veterinary care is provided for $55. Also, training classes are offered, group lessons at $230 for eight weekly classes ($175 if ASPCA dog).
