Welcome to the online edition of The Savvy Shoppers’ Survey. Ten years ago, we published the first of three editions of the New York Edge Savvy Shoppers’ Survey, providing up to date intelligence on 2,000 stores and services, garnered from the collective experience of hundreds of New York Savvy shoppers.

The response was overwhelming: shoppers loved it, bookstores grabbed it, and the media praised it for its objectivity. We’re back but focused on a more interactive and up to date shopper’s service via the internet.

We will be starting the process of updating the information on this website under the direction of Allan Ermann. We hope you will make comments -for good or bad, share your tips, and provide us with new sources to be listed here. Let us know if you have a shopping need or need a question answered -we will do our best to respond as quickly as possible.

Our goal is to cover the shopping experience from “best bargains” to “price is no object.” We bring you review of stores and services for everyone- from infants to seniors and for men, women, and children and of course - from pearls to plumbers.

www.SavvyShoppersSurvey.com highlights our best tips garnered from years of shopping, but it is much more than our opinions alone. The strength of this site is the collective shopping intelligence of some of New York’s most sophisticated shoppers.

Extremely knowledgeable shoppers let us know which stores and services they use and what they think about them. Our users provide great tips on best buys which we pass on to you. Where to haggle and how to do it. Which high end Madison Avenue furniture stores offer decorator discounts. Who knocks off Armani. Who discounts Hickey Freeman

And as New York and now Hong Kong are our home bases and travel our avocation, expect shopping secrets from around the world. More is coming.
